FIEO

FIEO is another name for the Federation of Indian Export Organization. The organization’s goal is to support entrepreneurs and exporters in foreign markets and encourage international trade.

An RCMC, or Registration-Cum-Membership Document, is a certificate that demonstrates that an exporter has dealt with products that have been registered with an organization or agency that has received approval from the Indian government. The certificate is issued by India’s Export Promotion Councils or commodities boards for a period of five years. An exporter must include a statement in their application describing their primary business activities in order to be eligible for an RCMC. This application would be received by the Commodity Board or the Export Promotion Council in this scenario.

The Indian Ministry of Commerce has unified export promotion organizations in India under the Federation of Indian Export Organizations. The global entrepreneurial spirit of Indian entrepreneurs is symbolized by the council’s headquarters in New Delhi. The procedure will be explained in detail in this article.

Association of FIEO

The rules for registering a new association with the assistance of the enrollment Process for FIEO are governed by the FIEO Association’s Articles of Association and Memorandum. To take advantage of the Foreign Trade Policy’s various provisions, exporters must acquire a RCMC.

Eligibility

As a Manufacturer Exporter, Merchant Exporter, Merchant-Manufacturer Exporter, or Service Provider, FIEO can help you get the RCMC. It contains:

It is necessary to acquire an export product if it is not covered by a Commodity Board or Export Promotion Council RCMC.

There are 14 service exporters listed in the FIEO Handbook of Procedures who are exempt from FIEO’s requirements. Exporters of multiple products who are not associated with an Export Promotion Council and whose primary line of business has not yet been established must apply for RCMC through the Federation of Indian Exporters.

The EPC Application Process

You must fill out form ANF 2C to apply to the Export Promotional Council, or EPC. You can be registered as either a merchant exporter or a manufacturing exporter. When selecting a manufacturing product exporter, supporting evidence must be provided.

Through export promotion councils, policymakers and business leaders from India collaborate with one another. These councils act as a link between the two groups. EPC organizes a wide range of marketing activities, including buyer-seller meetings, trade shows, and information booths, to spread the word about Indian exports and make it simple for foreign buyers to get in touch with Indian exporters. The topic of this section is an Export Promotion Council.

  • When applying for RCMC, exporters must identify their primary business. Additionally, acquiring the RCMC is required by the Export Promotional Council. For instance, anyone operating a coconut business is accountable to The Coconut Development Board.
  • The Federation of Indian Exporters Organization (FIEO) certificate can be requested directly from individuals who do not belong to any of the aforementioned export promotion councils.
  • Multi-product exporters who are not yet registered with any EPC or whose business stream has not yet been confirmed can obtain RCMC through FIEO.
  • Except for items under the control of the APEDA Spices and Tea Board, multi-product exporters based in the northeastern states can obtain RCMC through the Shellac and the Forest Product Export Promotional Council.
Exporters of handicrafts and handloom goods from Jammu and Kashmir are the only ones eligible to receive RCMCs.

RCMC and EPC

India is home to a total of nine commodities and 26 Export Promotion Council commodity boards. The Indian Commodities Board and Export Promotion Councils, or EPCs, issue RCMCs. RCMC has received approval from Central Government officials for these institutions to issue. Exporters whose goods do not fit into one of these categories are required to submit an application for RCMC to the FIEO, which oversees both India’s EPC and commodity boards.

RCMC

The Exporters’ Permit Council, or EPC, is open to any export application that has been registered with ANF 2C. EPC issues a RCMC Registration and Membership Certificate, in accordance with Appendix 2R. The applicant must demonstrate that they are an export manufacturer. By completing the application form and becoming associate members, an EPC can join as potential exporters.

By applying to be added to the appropriate EPC’s list, an exporter can register with the EPC. Upon acceptance, the exporter will receive a certificate valid for five years from the association. • A list of Partners and Directors with a physical address.
  • Please bring your MSME registration certificate with you.

In conclusion, the FIEO is primarily in charge of regulating RCMC certification in India. The exporter would be required to apply for membership in the FIEO as a result of this. The organization that is in charge of running the RCMC is called the FIEO. This kind of certification is required by the country’s policy on international trade. If the exporter wants to gain some financial advantage, they must do this.
