3. Payment must be made once the digitally signed patent application has been submitted.  Calculation is automatic.

4. Patent e-filing is acknowledged with an acknowledgement.

5. A status check can be performed on the application.

A provision for electronic filing of patents in India was introduced by the Indian Patent Office in 2007.
